Standard Effusion Cells

The standard effusion cells (Knudsen cells) have a hot-lip single filament heater. These cells are available with 6 cc, 10 cc, 13 cc, 23 cc, 40 cc and 125 cc crucible volumes. The standard crucible material is Pyrolytic Boron Nitride (PBN).

Dual Filament Effusion Cells

The dual filament effusion cells allow independent heating of the crucible top minimizing material condensation at the crucible orifice. These cells are available with 40 cc, 60 cc, 100 cc, 200 cc and 500 cc crucible volumes. These cells come with PBN crucibles.

Cold-lip Effusion Cell for Aluminum

Aluminum has the tendency to creep out from the PBN crucible if standard or dual filament cell is used. The cold-lip cell provides less heating power to the crucible lip freezing the aluminum there. The aluminum cold-lip cell is available with 23 cc, 40 cc, 60 cc, 100 cc and 200 cc volumes. The 100 cc and 200 cc models have a special PBN crucible suitable for production use.

All above mentioned cells come with patented thick foil tantalum filament. This filament provides superior temperature stability and repeatability.

High temperature 2000 oC Effusion Cells

The high temperature effusion cells have a special self supporting tungsten filament. These cells are available with 6 cc, 10 cc and 25 cc crucible volumes. The 25 cc cell has a conical crucible for high deposition uniformity over large substrate sizes. The crucible materials include Pyrolytic Graphite (PG), BeO, tantalum, tungsten and Alox.
